The Distributed Clone Factory is now producing RepRap Clonedel parts. We ship plastic parts to RepRap builders, and Clonedel mold sets to those who want to build robots quickly and easily.
If you are interested in building a repstrap to bootstrap the RepRap project, or are just looking for the quickest and most cost effective way to start 3D printing, you need a clonedel. For the uninitiated, it is a fork of the Prusa Mendel, optimized for easy casting and updated by the UW Solheim lab and Metrix Create:Space. This project is fully Open Source, and is designed to be both the fast track and the cheap track to 3D Printing.
If you are a hackerspace or robot club and want to start producing clonedels for your members or want to start holding 3D printer workshops, you need a set of molds. You can pour a full clondel set less than an hour.
The Clonedel project is an ongoing effort, and we are optimizing the molds for quicker production and to use less material. If you don't want your clones to go out of date, the easiest way to do this is with a mold subscription. A mold subscription gets you one full set of molds, and diffs sent out for one year.
$50 Clonedel Part Set: A full set of Clonedel parts, including extruder.
$500 Clonedel Mold Set: molds which allow you to pour a full Clonedel set.
$1000 Clonedel Mold Subscription (1 Year): One full set of molds, with diffs sent monthly throughout the subscription.
If you think this is a good idea and you want to donate to the cause, but don't want parts.
